  • Review: Silver & Gold – Pyramids

Embark on a fun expedition into the realm of the pyramids! Your goal is to explore them, collecting gems and reaching the burial chamber at the end of the map (or maps) with the most valuable loot, under the motto: «More treasures, more gold».

This is how Silver & Gold: Pyramids is presented, designed by Phil Walker-Harding as a follow-up to Silver & Gold. First published in 2023 by Nürnberger-Spielkarten-Verlag in a multilingual edition (including Spanish). Illustrations are provided by Oliver Freudenreich (Goa, No Thanks!) and Sandra Freudenreich (Illusion, Qwixx).

  • Review: Tag Team

Fight to knock out your opponent—every decision counts! ROUND 1… FIGHT! In this competitive 2-player fighting game, you will need to assemble your own duo of two fighters and build the ultimate synergy by combining their unique decks. A programmed combat game and a deck-builder all at once… with a twist!

This is the premise behind Tag Team, designed by Gricha German (Biomos) and Corentin Lebrat (Faraway, Draftosaurus). First published in 2025 by Scorpion Masqué in a bilingual French and English edition, it features artwork by Xavier Gueniffey Durin “Naïade”, the artist behind titles such as Seasons and Zenith.

  • Review: Finspan – Sharks & Reefs

Now you can Cultivate colorful Coral Reefs in each of the 3 Dive Sites in your Ocean. Healthy Reefs allow you to play powerful Reef Fish, unlock Abilities, and gain end-of-game bonuses. Meanwhile, Sharks scatter Fry Schools (to form more Schools elsewhere) and leave behind food scraps that any Fish in your Ocean can Consume.

This is how Sharks & Reefs is presented to us, the first expansion for Finspan, designed by Michael O’Connell. First published in 2026 by Stonemaier Games in an English version. The artwork is provided by Ana María Martínez Jaramillo (Wingspan), Catalina Martinez, and Mesa Schumacher (Ecosystem).

  • Review: Sensu

In Japan, the use of the Sensu—the folding fan—carries deep traditional significance: woe to anyone who confuses the wooden fans used in dance and theatre with the iron-ribbed war fans wielded by samurai! Gather the cards you need to craft your own fans using your wits, and always keep the key number of the challenge in mind: 15!

This is the premise behind Sensu, designed by Enrico Vicario as his debut release. First published in 2023 by DV Games in a dual English and Italian edition. Illustrations are handled by Andrea Guerrieri (Green: The Golf Card Game, Atelier daVinci).

  • Review: Lone Wolves

Become the leader of a wolf pack and compete for regions to become the alpha. To assert your dominance and ensure victory, send wolves into the territories. The strongest wolf wins, reinforcing your pack’s position, but—despite emerging wounded from the battle and becoming a lone wolf—the weaker one learns from the experience and improves its pack’s status for the next encounter. In your struggle, you must know when baring your teeth and when to act alone.

This is how Lone Wolves is presented to us, a design by Yasuyuki Nakamura (Trick & Trade) and Anthony Perone (Courtesans). First published in 2024 by Wonderful World Board Games in an English edition. It is a reimplementation of Four Clans Conflict. The illustrations are handled by Zingco Kang and Yuan Momoco, both responsible for the look of, for example, Dragonarium.
