    The rugged landscape of Exmoor, with its steep cliffs and vast moors, is home to numerous plant and animal species. Rediscover familiar elements and discover new ones against the backdrop of this unique environment.

    This is how Exmoor is presented to us, the first expansion for Forest Shuffle: Dartmoor designed by Kosch (FYFE). First published in 2026 by Lookout Games in English and German versions. The illustrations are by Toni Llobet and Judit Piella.

  • Review: High Moon

    In Death Valley, the best time to take your skeletal cows out to pasture is on full moon nights, when dark magic reigns across the desert. You will step into the shoes of a spectral rancher (if specters even have skin, that is), whose goal is to establish cattle routes to supply the region’s main distilleries, where the finest alcohol-free spirits made from bovine ectoplasm are crafted.

    This is the premise of High Moon, the first published design by Antonio Guillamó “Guilla”. Released for the first time in 2025 by Combo Games in a trilingual Spanish, French, and English edition following a crowdfunding campaign on Verkami. The illustrations were created by Pablo Sanz (1212 Las Navas de Tolosa).

    A long, long time ago, when our ancient civilization was in its golden age and myths and legends still walked among men, a cataclysm struck the world. The sea swallowed the land, leaving barely a few isolated archipelagos above its surface. Of the old and powerful empires, only those skilled in building ships capable of exploring the seas in search of the last emerged lands survived. You are the leaders of those civilizations in exile. You must establish new settlements, find food, and gather weapons to face the terrible creatures that still inhabit the islands.

    This is how Diluvium is presented to us, a design by Antoni Guillen (Monki, Mojo). First published in 2024 by Nuts! Publishing in an English and French version. Maud Chalmel (Take Time, Shamans) is in charge of the illustrations.

    Dinosaurs, flying reptiles, and giant mammals. Create the most prestigious exhibition! You will become paleontologists and collect the most beautiful fossils to display them in your museum. Choose which specimens you will study and use their exclusive abilities before adding them to your exhibition. Decide carefully when you will exhibit your fossils, because once they are in the exhibition, you will no longer be able to benefit from their effects. But don’t wait too long either: if you do, you might lose the opportunity to score points.

    This is how we are presented with First Giants, a design by Matthew Dunstan and Brett J. Gilbert, the minds behind Elysium, of which this game is a reimplementation. First published in 2026 by Space Cowboys in an English and French edition. The illustrations are done by Maud Chalmel (Take Time, Shamans) and Jessica Cognard (her debut work in the board game world).
    It is published in Spain by Asmodee (the game is completely language-independent, except for the rulebook). It allows for games of 2 to 5 players, with a suggested minimum age of 10, and an approximate duration of 30 minutes. The suggested retail price is €29.95. For this review, we have used a copy of the Spanish edition by Asmodee, which the publisher has kindly provided us as a review copy.

    On the other side of the snow-capped mountains of Crestaguja, south of the Everdell valley, lies the rugged region of Silverfrost. There, critters brave the cold seasons to enjoy the serene beauty of this land and the warmth of a loyal community. It is up to you to build and maintain a city in this inhospitable landscape. You must clear accumulated snow, light fires to keep your citizens warm and thriving, and complete important missions for the Ranger Guild.

    This is how we are presented with Everdell Silverfrost, designed by James A. Wilson and Clarissa A. Wilson (Everdell, Everdell Duo). First published in 2025 by Starling Games in an English version. The illustrations are handled by Enggar Adirasa (Everdell Duo, Mistfall) and Lukas Siegmon (Age of Innovation, Hallertau).
